Batesville, Ripley
Alpine Berry Farm
A very small u-pick blueberry patch - under an acre - run by Ted and Kathy Cooley at Batesville in Ripley County, in operation since 1990. Eight varieties of blueberry, grown with certified organic fertiliser and no herbicides or pesticides. Berries, raw blueberry blossom honey from hives on the farm, and local artwork are sold out of a restored 120-year-old barn, which also has restrooms, water, and indoor and outdoor seating. Bring your own containers to take berries home; picking buckets are provided. Cash, check or Zelle - no credit cards - and no dogs in the patch. The 2026 blueberry season closed on 15 August; u-pick was $5/lb, pre-picked $8/pint. Honey stays available on the barn counter year-round. Kathy posts picking conditions to Facebook and the farm website, and asks visitors to text before driving out.

- U-pick blueberries, eight varieties. One visitor reported $6 for 1.5lb self-picked, among the cheaper rates in the directory. Hospitality is the standout theme - staff accommodated pickers during a storm and returned a lost jacket. Honey sold on site and highly rated. Open Wednesdays and Saturdays 8am-noon, Father's Day through Labor Day.
