Blue Sky Berry Farm

A family-run u-pick and ready-pick blueberry farm at Wanatah in southern LaPorte County, rated 4.8 across 62 ratings. Bring your own container or buy one of theirs. Reviewers describe filling a gallon bucket in about half an hour and rate the berries the sweetest in north-west Indiana; a 5lb ready-picked box was reported around $25, and u-pick around $2.75/lb in 2022. Look for the blue house. Open 7am to 7pm every day, roughly 4 July to early August. Also has a gift shop, restrooms and a picnic area. Two numbers are in circulation: 219-707-9673 and 219-733-2416; the farm's own Facebook lists both. Bird-scare cannons fire regularly through the season and at least one reviewer found them loud enough to spoil the visit. One reviewer reported ready-picked berries were sold refrigerated and went soft within a day. The farm's website still reads "Closed for 2024 season" and appears out of date — Facebook is the more current source and has been posting current-season updates.
