Eenigenburg's Berry Farm

A u-pick and ready-pick blueberry farm on the north side of DeMotte in Jasper County, just off I-65 and about half a mile west of Highway 231. Trades as EBF Farm LLC and also as Eenigenburg's Berry Farm - North. Started in 1948 by Ernie and Alice Eenigenburg, who bought their first bushes from John Sauer, the man who introduced blueberries to the area in 1943; still family owned and now in its fourth generation. Picking pails are supplied, but bring your own containers or boxes to take berries home. Preserves, syrups and other blueberry goods are sold from the large garage at the bottom of the drive. Picnic area on site; restrooms are portable toilets. Season runs roughly from the 4th of July into early August; the farm's website says it is now closed for the season. Ready-picked orders are taken by phone in advance. IMPORTANT: there are two Eenigenburg blueberry farms at DeMotte and both warn visitors about the mix-up. This is the NORTH farm at 713 15th Ave NW on 219-987-2424 - look for the long driveway with a house up on a hill, off 15th Avenue (also signed 1400 North). The other, Eenigenburg's Blueberries, is the east farm on State Road 10 on 219-987-2957, and is a separate business.
